2 years agoColumbus Blue Jackets goaltender Joonas Korpisalo will miss Saturday's game against the Red Wings for personal reasons. Elvis Merzlikins will get the start in the matchup, with Daniil Tarasov as his backup. Korpisalo has been a much stronger option for the Blue Jackets this season, going 6-8-1, while Merzlikins has posted a 4-11-0 record. Merzlikins' goals-against average (4.62) is also significantly worse than Korpisalo's (3.28). Prior to Saturday's action, the Latvian netminder has dropped four decisions in a row, giving up a total of 16 goals, so it would take a brave manager to trust Merzlikins.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
