Jonathan Taylor Expects To Be Ready For Training Camp
1 year agoIndianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) didn't take part at all in the team's spring practices, but he's targeting a return at the start of training camp this summer as he heads into the final year of his rookie contract. "That's definitely the goal," Taylor said. He rushed for just 861 yards (4.5 yards per carry) and four TDs in 2022 after leading the league with 1,811 rushing yards and 18 TDs in his sophomore season in 2021. The 24-year-old had surgery to fix his lingering high-ankle sprain shortly after last season, which has clouded his projections entering 2023. The Colts see getting Taylor fully healthy as one of the biggest offseason priorities, but it remains to be seen if they're willing to give him a long-term contract extension that he desires. Taylor's fantasy stock is down coming off his ankle injury, but he should still remain a top-five fantasy RB.
