2 years agoNew Orleans Pelicans center Jonas Valanciunas scored a season-high 33 points and grabbed 16 rebounds as the team defeated Detroit on Friday 116-110. He got off to a hot start with 13 first-quarter points and never looked back, shooting 12-for-15 from the field and 8-for-10 at the foul line. Valanciunas also posted three assists and one block. The Pistons have been one of the weakest teams all season against centers, so Valanciunas was in a great spot to perform. Things are set to be much tougher for him in the next couple of games against Cleveland and Miami, two teams that have recorded elite defensive numbers against centers.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
