Jeff Driskel Heads To Injured Reserve
5 years agoThe Detroit Lions placed quarterback Jeff Driskel (hamstring) on Injured Reserve on Saturday and signed quarterback Kyle Sloter to the active roster from the Cardinals practice squad in a corresponding move. Detroit also signed quarterback Joe Callahan to the practice squad. Driskel wasn't terrible in a couple outings in place of Matthew Stafford (back), and he showed an ability to use his legs to extend plays. David Blough exceeded expectations on Thanksgiving in the loss to the Bears, but he'll be a low-end QB2 for however long Stafford remains out. Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones both found the end zone in Blough's first start, but don't expect that kind of high-end production the rest of the way if Blough closes out the year under center.
