Jazz Chisholm Jr. Officially Lands On 10-Day Injured List
4 months agoThe New York Yankees placed infielder/outfielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. (elbow) on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to Aug. 13) with a left-elbow sprain on Wednesday and recalled infielder Oswald Peraza from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in a corresponding move. Chisholm suffered a UCL sprain in his left elbow on Monday night and will now miss at least the next 10 days. However, if the 26-year-old needs surgery, he will end up missing the rest of the 2024 season. The Yankees acquired him from the Miami Marlins at the trade deadline at the end of July, and Chisholm had gone 18-for-57 (.316) with seven homers, 11 RBI and five steals in his 14 games in the Bronx as the primary third baseman. The Yankees will now likely turn to some combination of Oswald Cabrera and DJ LeMahieu at the hot corner, with Peraza serving as a bench bat.
