Jay Bruce Homers Again
6 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies outfielder Jay Bruce homered again Wednesday afternoon in his second game with the team. This is certainly one way to make a good impression as Bruce now has three home runs in two games since being traded by Seattle. Bruce is still not guaranteed everyday playing time with Scott Kingery and Adam Haseley competing for playing time in the outfield but this torrid start will certainly help. Bruce was disappointing in so far this season with only a .227 batting average but that should improve as his .219 BABIP comes up, though he is still striking out too much at 27.7 percent. He's a good add in fantasy as a hot-hand play, but his rest of season value is probably best left for leagues deeper than 12 teams or ones that start five outfielders.
