Minnesota Wild defenseman Jared Spurgeon added two assists in Tuesday's 6-2 win against the Hurricanes. The undersized defenseman now has six points in his last six games, bringing his season total up to 36 points (nine goals and 27 assists) in 58 games played this season. While Spurgeon's peripheral numbers are modest (just eight penalty minutes, 13 power play points, 107 shots and 61 hits this season), he does sit just outside the top-30 NHL defensemen in blocked shots with 102. His ownership remains low (51 percent owned in Yahoo! leagues), and he might be worth a look in any leagues that emphasize point production or count blocked shots.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller
