Jalen Reagor Expected To Take Back Seat To DeSean Jackson
5 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles rookie wide receiver Jalen Reagor, who was taken in the first round, has plenty of upside at the NFL level. He should see an immediate role on offense in 2020, but the Eagles are unlikely to go all-in on Reagor from Day 1. Reagor is likely to take a back seat to DeSean Jackson at the Z receiving position if Jackson is fully healthy. D-Jax is expected to be the team's top receiving threat, which should take some pressure off of Reagor in his rookie season. The good news for Reagor is that he is versatile and will probably learn multiple positions. The slot position is likely his best option for consistent playing time. But the team's consistent use of 12 personnel (two tight ends, two receivers) could hinder Reagor's upside. The rookie will struggle for consistent targets, but he's worth a late-round stash if Jackson or Alshon Jeffery are injured. Jackson is an obvious injury risk, but he did have eight catches for 154 yards and two touchdowns in his only healthy game of 2019 in this offense.
