Jahan Dotson 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook: Eagles New WR3
7 months agoAfter an impressive rookie season in 2022, wide receiver Jahan Dotson was epically disappointing in 2023 – failing to surpass his yardage and touchdown total from his promising rookie year. Unfortunately, the emergence of Curtis Samuel as a reliable short-game target for second-year quarterback Sam Howell quelled what might have been a breakout season for Dotson last year. A year later, Dotson finds himself in a brand-new situation after a surprising in-division trade to the Philadelphia Eagles. The Washington Commanders sent him and a 2025 fifth-round pick to Philly for a '25 third and two sevenths. The former Nittany Lion's new digs are certainly an upgrade over his previous team -- Philadelphia finished 2023 top-ten in team points per game (seventh) --, though there are more mouths to feed in the Eagles' offense, and many of them are high-profile. Not only will Dotson have star WRs A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith to contend with for targets, but Dallas Goedert and new addition Saquon Barkley will also get their share of touches. How the Penn State product will be deployed on his new team remains to be seen. For now, the third-year pro is Yahoo!'s WR60 in ADP (138 overall) and tough to trust as more than a potential handcuff or deep-league flier in an entirely healthy Kellen Moore-led offense.
