J.J. Wetherholt Hits Leadoff Home Run
J.J. Wetherholt went 1-for-5 with a home run during their contest against Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday evening. Wetherholt wasted little time as he hit a lead-off long ball. Since earning the call to join Triple-A Memphis, St. Louis' first-round pick from the 2024 MLB Draft has held his own, posting a strong .360/.448/.800 slash line. Through seven games, Wetherholt has hit two home runs and three doubles. Earlier in the regular season, Wetherholt spent time with Double-A, where he also swung a hot bat, posting a .300/.425/.466 line across 62 games. Given his rather quick progression through the St. Louis pipeline, Wetherholt should be in the mix to make his MLB debut in the second half. If he continues to perform well at Triple-A, he will enter stash territory.
