J.A. Happ To Be Fifth Starter
5 years agoNew York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said that starting pitcher J.A. Happ will be the team's fifth starter entering the 2020 season. He'll slot in behind Gerrit Cole, James Paxton, Luis Severino and Masahiro Tanaka. Happ went 12-8 last year but with a 4.91 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, 140 strikeouts and 49 walks in 161 1/3 innings over 30 starts and one relief outing for the Bombers last year. The 37-year-old must pitch well over the course of the 2020 season in order to justify keeping his rotation spot, so he'll be a shaky back-of-the-rotation starter for those in deep mixed and AL-only leagues. Consider Happ a deep league and DFS streamer in the right matchups.
