San Jose Sharks left wing Jeff Skinner was placed on unconditional waivers for the purpose of contract termination. His time in San Jose has come to a premature end after only 32 appearances. Skinner signed a one-year, $3 million contract with the Sharks in the offseason but failed to make a significant impact on the team. He managed only six goals and seven assists. Skinner, who will turn 34 in May, also struggled with the Edmonton Oilers last season. While he could still get a chance somewhere else, it wouldn't be surprising to see Skinner end his career after 16 campaigns and 1,100 regular-season games in the NHL.--Taavi Pailk
