Igor Shesterkin Shuts The Door On Monday
New York Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin stopped all 21 shots he saw against the New York Islanders on Monday evening. The Rangers had the slight advantage in the shot total but Shesterkin was able to step up when called on. Since allowing five goals on February 22, Shesterkin has gone 3-1 over his last four contests. During this stretch, he has held a strong .939 save percentage with a 1.77 GAA. He has only allowed more than two goals twice. However, prior to this recent surge, Shesterkin posted a hefty 3.45 GAA and a .865 save percentage over his last eight contests. Despite the uneven play at times, Shesterkin remains a must-start goaltender in all formats. He will look to stay hot on Wednesday evening when the Rangers host the Washington Capitals.
