Hurston Waldrep Has Mixed Outing on Tuesday
Hurston Waldrep allowed three runs (two earned) on three hits and three walks with four strikeouts over 5.2 innings as he took the loss against Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday. Waldrep wasn't in the zone consistently enough, with 49 of his 94 total pitches thrown for strikes. The right-hander was able to generate 10 swings-and-misses on 34 swings in this outing. However, the lack of control continues to plague him. He's allowed three or more walks in eight of his 14 starts this season. The Braves could have called upon him to join the rotation recently, but opted for the 20-year-old right-hander Didier Fuentes. Waldrep will likely continue to iron things out in the minor leagues for the time being.
