Guardians Option Logan Allen To Triple-A
1 year agoThe Cleveland Guardians optioned rookie left-hander Logan Allen to Triple-A Columbus on Thursday and recalled pitcher Michael Kelly from the minors in a corresponding move. Allen tossed 3 2/3 scoreless innings against the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday while walking two and striking out five, but he wasn't very efficient at all. The 24-year-old southpaw will head back to the farm after posting a solid 3.47 ERA (3.70 FIP), 1.44 WHIP, 24 walks and 63 strikeouts in 62 1/3 innings over his first 12 big-league starts for Cleveland. Allen will need to work on throwing more strikes and being more efficient on the mound, as he didn't go beyond four innings in any of his last three starts. Cal Quantrill (shoulder) is set to come off the injured list this weekend to take Allen's spot in the starting rotation.
