Gregory Polanco To DH In First Two Spring Games
5 years agoPittsburgh Pirates outfielder Gregory Polanco (shoulder) will be used as a designated hitter in his first two spring games, according to manager Derek Shelton. Polanco isn't really limited at all physically in camp, but the Pirates are slow playing it with him after he's dealt with shoulder problems the last two seasons. Some fantasy managers will avoid the 28-year-old Dominican altogether, but he's at least worth a late-round flier in mixed leagues as a potential bounce-back sleeper if he's truly past his shoulder woes. When healthy, Polanco has the potential for 20-plus home runs and 20-plus stolen bases.
