The Green Bay Packers defense and special teams has not been fantasy relevant for most weeks this season. However, they have been a reliable option when provided with the right, inexperienced quarterback matchup. They were supposed to have such a matchup in Week 13 when they took on the Arizona Cardinals at home. Instead of a solid performance, they surrendered 20 points, 315 yards, and forced no turnovers. This is partly the result of extensive injuries that have decimated the depth chart at every position group on the unit. Green Bay figured to be a reasonable start in Week 15 at Chicago and a great option in Week 16 against the New York Jets. However, their performance during this loss demonstrated that they will have a very difficult time managing without many of their injured starters. They should be avoided for fantasy purposes if possible for the remainder of the season.--Tyger McGuigganRead More News
