Giancarlo Stanton Smacks Home Run After Getting Beaned
7 years agoNew York Yankees slugger Giancarlo Stanton had an interesting second game of Monday’s doubleheader against the Detroit Tigers. After striking out in his first plate appearance, he was plunked in the third inning by Tigers pitcher Mike Fiers. Stanton took exception to the act, perhaps harking back to a time when Fiers hit him in the face. He barked something at Fiers, having to be walked to first by Detroit’s catcher. His next time up, Stanton smashed a home run to left field, staring down Fiers and pointing to him as he stepped on home plate. It was his 13th home run of the season, although it would not be enough as the Yankees lost the game.
