George Springer Could Start Rehab Assignment Tuesday
4 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder George Springer (quadriceps) could begin a minor-league rehab assignment on Tuesday. Manager Charles Montoyo said, "It is possible Springer begins a rehab stint Tuesday depending on how he feels." Springer has been limited to four games this season due to a quad injury. The Blue Jays will be careful with their star outfielder after he signed a six-year, $150 million contract this offseason. Fantasy managers who drafted Springer in 2021 drafts may finally get some return on their investment. Barring a setback, Springer could return to the big leagues within a week or two. The former Astro slashed .200/.294/.600 with two home runs, three RBI, three runs scored, and one stolen base across 17 plate appearances in 2021. He's averaged a 134 wRC+ across his eight-year career.
