Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Frederik Andersen (blood clots) is set to resume on-ice activities. He will begin with on-ice conditioning as he works his way back to re-joining the team. The veteran hasn't appeared in a game since Nov. 2 against the New York Rangers and has appeared in just six games overall this season, posting a 2.87 goals-against average and an .894 save percentage, going 4-1-0 on the season. The Hurricanes have struggled to get consistent goaltending this season as their .901 Sv% at five-on-five ranks 30th in the league, ahead of only the Devils and Senators. Nonetheless, Carolina enters the All-Star break second in the Metropolitan Division with a 28-15-5 record, just two points behind the division-leading Rangers with one game in hand.--Brenton Kemp
