Freddie Freeman Exits Game Early Saturday Night With Apparent Finger Injury
4 months agoLos Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman (finger) left the game early on Saturday night against the St. Louis Cardinals with what appears to be a finger injury. While playing his position, Freeman knocked down a hard grounder, and the ball appeared to hit a finger on his right hand. He was able to get the runner at first base but was seen looking at his finger after the play. The team removed him from the game with Teoscar Hernandez batting for him his next time up to the plate. There is no word yet on the severity of the injury for the superstar, who is hitting .292 with 17 home runs, 72 RBI, six stolen bases and 69 runs scored in 428 at-bats. UPDATE: Freeman said the ground ball in the sixth inning came up and jammed the middle finger on his right hand. It was swollen after the game, but X-rays came back negative. "Day-to-day," Freeman said.
