Freddie Freeman 2026 Fantasy Baseball Outlook: Reliable Four-Category Production for a Discounted Price
Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman manufactured yet another productive season in 2025, finishing with a .295-24-90-81-6 line with a .370 wOBA and 139 wRC+. He did so despite a reaggravation of his ankle injury from the season before and various other minor ailments, managing to still play in 147 games. In many ways, his 2025 looked very much like 2024, when he also played 147 games and produced a .282-22-89-81-9 line with a .365 wOBA and 136 wRC+, however, there were some other stats worth pointing out. The 36-year-old saw a notable negative change (four percent or more) in K%, swinging-strike%, and contact rate. Perhaps some of that can be attributed to playing through injury, and on the bright side, the former MVP saw a year-over-year increase in both barrel and hard-hit rate. Regardless, with an offseason of rest, fantasy managers should expect another productive season from the 6-foot-4 slugger, especially given the potent offensive environment in which he's hitting. Some of those "concerning" peripheral stats may provide the option of snagging Freeman at a discount, as his current NFBC ADP of 66 is a bit lower than RotoBaller's ranking of 56 overall.
