Francisco Liriano To Make Rehab Start on Sunday
7 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Francisco Liriano (hamstring) is set to start in a minor league rehab game on Sunday as he makes his way back to the Tigers rotation. Liriano threw a 60-pitch simulated game before Tuesday's game at Comerica Park and emerged pain-free and is ready to take the next step. He will presumably rejoin the Tigers starting rotation after his assignment on Sunday, barring any setbacks. The veteran left-hander holds a 3-2 record to go along with a 3.90 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and a 45/29 strikeout-to-walk ratio so far in 2018. He offers decent streaming and deeper mixed league value, as his ERA and strikeout numbers have been better than expected through 57 innings pitched across 10 starts.
