Detroit Red Wings forward Filip Zadina will not start the season with Detroit as the team assigned him to the Grand Rapids Griffins this weekend. The former sixth overall pick appeared in only nine games last year with the Red Wings, keeping his entry-level contract slide eligible. Since Zadina is only 19 years old, his contract remains slide eligible as long as he does not play 10 or more games this season. This likely means that Detroit will keep him in Grand Rapids for the large majority of the year, robbing him of any fantasy value. Touted for his scoring ability, Zadina has only registered one goal and two assists in nine games at the NHL level. Owned in five percent of Yahoo! leagues, Zadina can be safely dropped in all non-dynasty leagues.--Russ Ivanac - RotoBallerRead More News
