Falcons Never Offered Head-Coaching Job To Bill Belichick
10 months agoAtlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank set the record straight on the circumstances surrounding the team courting former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick for their head-coaching position this offseason. "I want to make it 1,000 percent clear, I want to go to 2,000 percent or 100,000 percent or whatever you want to use. Bill Belichick never in our discussions asked for full control of personnel or the building or anything of that nature," Blank said. "He was very collaborative." Belichick interviewed for the Falcons' job in person twice, but the team went with Raheem Morris because they felt he was the best candidate for the job. Belichick at one point looked like the front-runner for the job, but he was never offered the position. With all the head-coaching jobs now accounted for, it's looking like Belichick will be out of a coaching job in the NFL in 2024.
