Evan Carter Sitting Saturday, Could Land on 10-Day Injured List
Evan Carter (back) is dealing with back spasms and will not play Saturday against the Seattle Mariners, according to Kennedi Landry of MLB.com. Carter may head to the 10-day injured list, but the Rangers haven't made a decision yet. This is a concerning issue for Carter, who has a history of back problems and missed most of the 2024 season with a lumbar sprain. The 22-year-old was on the IL earlier this season with a quad strain and has batted a modest .238/.323/.381 with four homers, 21 RBI, 27 runs scored, and 12 stolen bases in a career-high 189 plate appearances. Carter was highly productive in June, but he has gone just 12-for-69 (.174) with no home runs in 22 games since July 4.
