Erik Karlsson Sets New Record With Another Productive Outing
2 years agoSan Jose Sharks defenseman Erik Karlsson took his point streak to 13 games in Sunday's matchup against Chicago, setting a new franchise record for the longest point streak by a player. He already had the record among blue-liners. Karlsson's superb work and two assists helped the team to erase a two-goal deficit and win 5-2. His streak includes six multi-point efforts in total and the scoring surge had placed Karlsson tied for fourth on the league's points list. He has tallied 53 points in 39 games, which is a huge improvement from his last year's 35-point effort. In fact, Karlsson should soon have more points in 2022-23 than he had in the two previous campaigns combined (57).
