Erik Jones is a dicey choice. Let's be honest. However, last year's run in the Joe Gibbs Racing car opened some eyes and he showed a keen ability to negotiate traffic. That resulted in a third-place finish. Even in a lesser Richard Petty Motorsports car, Jones does start 17th on Sunday and has the possibility of finishing in the top ten. He could DNF but again, he may not. Jones has several top-ten road results this year as well and comes off a ninth-place at Talladega.
