Elly De La Cruz Productive in Loss
Elly De La Cruz went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 7-3 loss to the Chicago Cubs. The dynamic infielder also singled, scored twice, and drew a walk. De La Cruz blasted a Jameson Taillon offering 423 feet to right field in the top of the sixth inning, leaving the bat at a whopping 117.4 MPH to notch homer No. 12 on the year. He's been superb over his last nine outings, batting a red-hot .343 (12-for-35) with two doubles, four long balls, nine RBI, 13 runs scored, and one steal. The 23-year-old appears to be well on his way to surpassing the career-best 25 homers he set in 2024, though he may not reach the lofty steal total he set a season ago. Still, he's undoubtedly been worth the price fantasy managers paid for him this offseason.
