Earl Thomas Not Expected To Play In Week 1
6 years agoSeattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas isn't expected to end his holdout with Week 1 approaching. "Until something changes," NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport elaborated on NFL GameDay Season Preview on Tuesday, "my understanding is Earl Thomas is not expected to show up and play for the Seahawks." Thomas is awaiting a trade, but the Seahawks still want a second-round pick for his services. The Cowboys are willing to do a third-rounder for Thomas. Second-year defensive back Tedric Thompson is expected to start at free safety with Thomas still absent. Thomas isn't worth owning in IDP leagues, and the Seahawks defense is a weak fantasy option with the Legion of Boom all but dissolved at this point. Thomas' expected absence in Week 1 is good news for Broncos receivers Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders and rookie Courtland Sutton.
