Drew Smyly Leaves Monday Start With Oblique Tightness
3 years agoChicago Cubs left-hander Drew Smyly left his start against the Milwaukee Brewers after the third inning with oblique tightness in Game 2 of a Monday doubleheader. Smyly had thrown three scoreless innings while striking out three and walking one before being replaced on the mound by Anderson Espinoza. The 32-year-old hurler is having a solid season for the Cubs, posting a 3.80 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, and 34 strikeouts over 42 2/3 innings of work. Look for the Cubs to update Smyly's status after the game on Monday night.
