Drew Brees Might Not Demand Top-Dollar Contract
5 years agoNew Orleans Saints impending free-agent quarterback Drew Brees has announced that he will return to the team for another season in 2020, and he's not expected to demand a top-dollar deal in what should be his final deal before retirement. Brees is likely to be signed for around $25 million, which would allow the Saints to make another move in free agency if they so please. The 41-year-old is nearing the end and played in just 11 games in 2019 due to a freak finger injury. He still completed 74.3 percent of his passes and had 27 touchdowns to only four interceptions, though. While the future Hall of Famer's arm strength isn't what it once was, he should still be at least a midrange QB1 target this fall.
