Domonic Leone Set for a Role in Middle Relief in St. Louis
7 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher Dominic Leone is set for a middle relief role in the St. Louis bullpen. Leone was acquired from Toronto in the Randal Grichuk deal. He was great while in the big leagues last season with the Blue Jays, posting a 2.56 ERA and 81/23 K/BB ratio over 70 1/3 innings. Despite a somewhat open closer competition in St. Louis, Leone is far from the ninth inning and won't have much fantasy value in 2018 unless he starts moving up the depth chart. He's someone to keep an eye on in deeper leagues, though, because he has the upside to be a strong shutdown closer.
