The Miami Dolphins released linebacker Kyle Van Noy on Wednesday just one year into his four-year, $51 million deal that he signed last March. The Dolphins tried to trade him in the last week but were unsuccessful. Van Noy was set to make $12.5 million in 2021, a number that would've been fully guaranteed if he was still on the roster next week. Miami will save $9.775 million in salary cap space by cutting him, and they will be counting on rising young linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel to take on a larger role now that Van Noy is no longer on the roster. Van Noy recorded six sacks in 14 games last year while playing both off-the-ball linebacker and edge rusher. He should attract plenty of interest on the open market as a versatile veteran defender.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
