2 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said "it's gonna be a slow process" for starting pitcher Tony Gonsolin (ankle) coming off a sprained left ankle. It's safe to assume that Ryan Pepiot and Michael Grove are the first options if the Dodgers need spot starts in Gonsolin's rotation spot to begin the 2023 season. Gonsolin rolled his ankle during drills in camp on Monday and is unlikely to be ready for the start of the season now. The 28-year-old right-hander had a breakout season for the Dodgers in 2022 with 16 wins, a 2.10 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 116 strikeouts in 128 1/3 innings, but he wasn't as good down the stretch and also dealt with a forearm strain. His 2023 season is off to a bad start, and it wouldn't be wise for fantasy managers to expect better numbers from him this year.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
