On Tuesday after being traded by the Cincinnati Reds to the New York Mets, all catcher Devin Mesoraco had to do was walk across the hallway to his new team with the Amazins in the midst of a three-game set in the Queen City. He served as pinch hitter in the Mets 7-2 loss but struck out. On Wednesday, though, Mesoraco will have a real chance to make an impression, as he’ll be getting his first start as a New York Met. Mesoraco has gotten off to a rough .214/.283/.333 start to the season, but perhaps a change of scenery with more consistent playing time will help him get back to the Mesoraco of old. If he plays well, he certainly has the opportunity to run away with the catching job in Queens. He's back on the radar in two-catcher leagues.--John Smith
