Denzel Clarke Snaps Skid on Tuesday
Denzel Clarke went 1-for-3 with a single and a strikeout during their loss to the Houston Astros on Tuesday evening. This was Clarke's first career MLB hit. The Athletics promoted Clarke prior to their contest on May 22 against the Philadelphia Phillies. However, over his first three games, the outfielder went 0-for-10 at the plate with eight strikeouts. Through his first four MLB contests, the A's have given Clarke the starting nod at center field. Earlier this season at Triple-A, the No. 5-ranked prospect in the system held a .286/.436/.419 slash line with eight doubles, three triples, and seven stolen bases. Given his role as the everyday center fielder, he is worth adding in all 14+ team formats as he carries solid speed upside.
