David Price Closes Out Solid Week With 10 Punchouts
David Price struck out 10 batters in just five innings, while allowing two earned runs on five hits and two walks in a 4-3, extra-inning victory over Tampa Bay Sunday. The southpaw got touched up for two runs in the third but only allowed two hits after that. The 10 strikeouts are a season-high, despite it being his shortest outing of the season. He didn’t earn the victory, but Price has easily been Boston's best starter, with a 3.75 ERA and a 30:5 K:BB in just 24 innings. It's hard to knock the 33-year-old thus far, but he'll look to maintain his strikeout ratios and work deeper into his next start, again versus the Rays Friday
