David Peterson Won't Make His Next Start
3 years agoThe New York Mets are awaiting further tests on starting pitcher David Peterson (side) and he will be examined further when the team returns to New York, but he will not make his next start after leaving early on Wednesday against the Atlanta Braves with right side discomfort. Peterson gave up five earned runs in just three innings on Wednesday before departing, pushing his ERA up to 5.40 with a 69/29 K/BB in 66 2/3 innings this year in his 15 starts. The 25-year-old left-hander is likely headed for a stint on the injured list, so plan accordingly. Peterson hasn't been consistent enough to be worth rostering in shallow mixed leagues this year.
