Daulton Varsho Returns Against Yankees
6 months agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder Daulton Varsho (back) is starting in center field and batting seventh for Thursday's series opener against the visiting New York Yankees and left-hander Carlos Rodon. Varsho missed the last three games after injuring his back in Saturday's contest, but he's back in action now against a pitcher he's gone 2-for-3 against in his career. However, he won't be all that attractive for DFS lineups because of the fact that he's hit only .133 (4-for-30) with a homer, four RBI and eight strikeouts in eight games over the last 14 days. The lefty-hitting Varsho has hit .277 (13-for-47) against southpaw, but with only one of his 11 long balls on the season. With Varsho back in Toronto's lineup, veteran Kevin Kiermaier will return to the bench for the Blue Jays.
