Darcy Kuemper was traded on Wednesday evening to the Colorado Avalanche. The former Arizona Coyotes' goaltender has one year and $4.5 million of salary cap ($5.5 million salary) left on his current contract. Colorado sent Conor Timmons and a 2022 first-round pick for the goalie. He expects to be the starter for the Avalanche this season. Kuemper played in 27 games this season and posted a 10-11-3 mark. His .907 save percentage was right around league average but his previous two seasons in Arizona saw him produce a .927 save percentage. Kuemper finished 5th and 7th in the Vezina Trophy voting for 2019 and 2020. Was last year a blip and can he regain his form? Colorado allowed just 25.6 shots per game in 2021 so Kuemper has a good chance of bouncing back enough.--Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
