Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Curtis McElhinney looks to be in line to make his team debut Friday night, with the Canes finishing off an early back-to-back set at Columbus. McElhinney played 85 games for the Jackets in 2013-2017, so he'll be back in familiar surroundings. The 35-year-old goalie had a great year in Toronto last season, posting an 11-5-1 record in 18 games, allowing 2.14 goals per game with a .934 save percentage, but he was waived by the Leafs this week after Garret Sparks outplayed him during training camp. McElhinney hasn't enjoyed facing his former club thus far, going 1-5-0 in eight appearances with a 3.42 goals-against average and a .887 save percentage.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
