Cowboys Defense Lets Go Of Mike Nolan
4 years agoThe Dallas Cowboys fired defensive coordinator Mike Nolan on Friday after just one season with the team. The Cowboys also fired defensive line coach Jim Tomsula after he was hired just three days after Nolan was last January. Dallas finished the 2020 season ranked 11th in passing defense (227.6 yards per game), 28th in scoring defense (29.6 points per game) and 31st in rushing defense (158.8 yards per game). The Cowboys Defense finished ninth in total defense in 2019, so this was a big step back. Everson Griffen was traded, Gerald McCoy was injured and cut before the season and Dontari Poe and Ha Ha Clinton-Dix were released prior to the regular season. Linebackers Jaylon Smith and Leighton Vander Esch both underperformed due to injuries. Obviously, Dallas' D will have to make strides before fantasy managers look their way in 2021.
