Corey Dickerson Could Begin Rehab Assignment This Week
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays manager Charlie Montoyo said that there's hope that outfielder Corey Dickerson (foot) could begin a minor league rehab assignment this week. Dickerson has been on the injured list since mid-June with a left foot contusion, but he was able to take batting practice last Monday and is nearing a return. The Blue Jays acquired him from the Miami Marlins around a month ago, but with a crowded outfield picture in Toronto, the veteran outfielder will likely serve as bench depth with his new team when he's finally healthy. The 32-year-old left-handed hitter was hitting .260/.321/.377 with two home runs, 27 runs, 14 RBI and two steals in 204 at-bats for Miami before his injury. Dickerson can be ignored for now in mixed leagues.
