Clayton Kershaw Takes The Loss In Return
3 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw suffered his first loss of the season on Saturday as his club fell to the Giants 3-2. In his first start on the hill since May 7, the veteran allowed two earned runs on three hits and a pair of walks while striking out four in the 71-pitch effort. Both runs came in the second inning with one off a Thairo Estrada homer, and the other cashed in on a Luis Gonzalez two-out single in what was an encouraging performance after a month of action missed. Kershaw now owns a 2.12 ERA and 1.10 WHIP with 36 K through 34 IP on the season. The numbers will always look good for the left-hander, it's just a matter of how many innings he can put up as he looks ahead to his next matchup versus the Guardians at home.
