Chris Taylor 2021 Fantasy Outlook: Utility Man With 20-Homer Potential In A Stacked Lineup
4 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers super-utility man Chris Taylor, who can play second base, shortstop and the outfield, could be slightly more attractive to fantasy managers in 2021. While the 30-year-old may not have an everyday role with the Blue, he should continue to see at-bats all over the diamond and could even see more time in the outfield now that Joc Pederson is no longer around. Taylor dropped his strikeout rate to 25.7 percent and had a career-high 12.1 percent walk rate in 56 games in 2020 while clubbing eight home runs and driving in 30 runs in 214 plate appearances. He also had career-highs in barrel rate (11.5 percent) and hard-hit percentage (45). Taylor has 20-homer pop and could steal double-digit bases, but don't expect a batting average at or above .270 due to his swing-and miss tendencies. In a stacked Dodgers lineup with more potential playing time, you could do a lot worse than Taylor as infield/outfield depth in the later rounds of drafts.
