New York Rangers left wing Chris Kreider (upper body) was a late scratch for Sunday's clash against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Kreider was on the ice for pregame warmups but was ruled out for the contest due to an upper-body injury. The veteran winger scored his 17th goal of the season in Saturday's 8-2 loss to the Buffalo Sabres and has notched 21 points in 48 games during a difficult year in New York. Jimmy Vesey, who was initially set to replace Arthur Kaliyev, took Kreider's spot in the lineup. Kreider is considered day-to-day and will have his first chance to return on Tuesday in the Battle of New York against the Islanders.--Taavi Pailk
