3 years agoWashington Football Team head coach Ron Rivera confirmed on Monday that defensive end Chase Young (knee) tore his ACL during the team's Week 10 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Young will miss the rest of the 2021 season. Last year's second overall pick will now try to be ready for the start of the 2022 campaign after recording 26 tackles (15 solo), four QB hits, two forced fumbles and 1.5 sacks in nine games played this season. Washington's defense tightened the clamps and finally played well to upset Tom Brady on Sunday, but they are now without two of their top pass-rushers in Young and Montez Sweat, who is recovering from a fractured jaw suffered several weeks ago.
