Charlie Blackmon Steals A Rare Base
6 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder Charlie Blackmon was a base-stealer at one time. He stole 43 bases in 2015. Now, it's become a rare occurrence. Blackmon swiped a bag on the generous combo of Kenta Maeda and Yasmani Grandal on Friday (one of three bases the Rockies stole from the pair), giving him his first stolen base in nearly eight weeks. Blackmon's certainly not having a bad year in general, as he's got 21 home runs and six stolen bases while hitting .278, but he also hasn't been worth the second-round price tag most fantasy owners paid for him at the start of the season. There's still time for him to get hot to finish it out, but it looks like 2018 will go down as a bit of a forgotten year for Blackmon.
