Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Casey DeSmith has seen things go far from smoothly in his first four decisions in 2021-22. He is 0-3-1 with a ghastly 4.33 goals-against average and an .867 save percentage. When a goalie has a point share of just barely above zero, that is troublesome. There have been rumblings DeSmith could be waived and/or sent down to Wilkes-Barre soon. His last start against the Montreal Canadiens was DeSmith's best start of the season. He still lost but gave up three goals on 31 shots. It is baby steps. His goals-saved above average is -5.7 and his high-danger save percentage is just .650. Those must improve starting Monday.--Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
